Toshinori Yagi, better known as All Might, was born quirkless in a world where superhuman abilities define destiny. His life changed when he met Nana Shimura, the seventh holder of One For All, a quirk passed down through generations to combat evil. Recognizing his unwavering heroism, she trained him and bestowed One For All upon him, igniting his rise as the world’s greatest hero.
Later, Yagi recongnized Izuku Midoriya as his successor, and passed on his powers. Midoriya later became Deku, the protagonist of My Hero Acadamia. But let’s talk about All Might.
A defining moment came in a brutal clash with All For One, the quirk-stealing demon king. Though All Might won, the battle left him with a gruesome chest wound and a time limit on his power. Undeterred, he became the Symbol of Peace, a beacon of hope whose mere presence crushed crime rates worldwide.

TogglePowers and Abilities
All Might’s strength stems from One For All, a quirk that stockpiles power across generations. At his peak, he wielded it with unmatched mastery:
- Superhuman Strength: Punched with enough force to change weather patterns (see: United States of Smash).
- Enhanced Speed: Could move faster than the eye could track, leaving shockwaves in his wake.
- Limitless Stamina: Fought for hours against armies of villains without faltering—until his injury.
- Muscle Form: A buffed-up transformation masking his emaciated true form. Pure intimidation.
- Pressure Waves: Claps or punches creating tornado-force winds (e.g., Detroit Smash).
- Inspirational Aura: His smile alone made villains second-guess their life choices.
Weaknesses
- Time Limit: Post-injury, his hero form dwindled from hours to 3 minutes/day.
- Critical Injury: A gaping wound from All For One caused chronic pain and blood loss.
- Quirk Succession: Passing One For All to Midoriya left him with fading “embers” of power.
- Overexertion: Pushing past his limits risked collapsing his body entirely.
Friends and Allies
- Izuku Midoriya (Deku): Protégé and successor. All Might’s belief in him redefined heroism.
- Gran Torino: Mentor and former teacher who drilled him in One For All’s mechanics.
- Naomasa Tsukauchi: Trusted detective ally; handled intel behind the scenes.
- Sir Nighteye: Former sidekick whose foresight warned of All Might’s grim fate.
- Endeavor: Rival forced to reckon with his shadow after All Might’s retirement.
Main Nemeses
- All For One: Arch-nemesis and quirk boogeyman. Outcome: All Might crushed him twice, but the war continues.
- Nomu (U.S.J.): Bio-engineered monster designed to kill him. Outcome: Obliterated with a Midwest Smash.
- Wolfram (Movie): Meta Liberation Army extremist. Outcome: United States of Smash 2.0.
Major Fights
- Vs. All For One (First Battle): Won at the cost of his organs and mentor’s life.
- Vs. Nomu (U.S.J.): Proved why he’s the #1 hero by punching a brainless brute into orbit.
- Vs. All For One (Final Showdown): Retired in glory, leaving society to grapple with his absence.
- Vs. Deku (Training): Taught Midoriya to channel One For All without exploding his bones.
Alliances and Affiliations
- UA High School: Taught the next generation, including Class 1-A.
- Pro Hero Network: United heroes like Best Jeanist and Edgeshot under his Symbol of Peace.
- One For All Lineage: Linked to predecessors like Nana Shimura and the vestiges within the quirk.
Legacy: All Might’s true power wasn’t just his fists—it was his unshakable idealism. He carried the world on his shoulders until his body broke, then passed the torch to a quirkless boy with a hero’s heart. Even retired, his influence looms larger than any villain.
My Thoughts
I say he did well as the hope of humanity in the My Hero Academia universe. Given his condition at the start I thought he would die in a few minutes. STill he outlived All For One and most.
Now, let’s talk about the anime itself! Although the concept lacks a lot of depth and excitement. The series itself is great overall, but the unnecessary prolonging of episodes showing useless scenes of routine tasks makes the fans feel “less excited.”
What I like about it? Well, the concept of quirks, and everyone having a sort of power or ability. Finally, the unnecessarily prolonged episodes and chapters make me wanna stop watching or reading. Thoughts?
