Two years ago we got our beloved Chainsaw Man season 1. Now we are getting a Chainsaw Man movie – Reze Arc. The studio may have a good plan but stopping the production right after season 1 seemed very frustration for most fans. The movie will cover events right after the season 1. It is when Denji is already a member of Public Safety Devil Hunters under Makima. It is a story of Love, emotions, and naturally violence which is the main theme of Chainsaw Man. Let’s dig deeper, and again remember there are SPOILERS!!!

As the name suggest, it is Reze. She is a beautiful girl who shows Denji a life outside of violence, and work. Denji starts to fall in love, as we all know he is desperate for it. Especially, for Makima.

In the later part of the story, you will discover a shocking secret about Reze. She is not who she claims. Not an innocent girl, falling for an idiot like Denji. But a big bad villain – a Bomb Devil Hybrid with a solo mission of assassinating Denji, and claiming his heart (the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita). Remember, Denji’s heart (Pochita) is very special in Chainsaw Man. Infact, it is one of the most powerful and threatening devil in the whole story.

Finally, when all is clear, Public Safety Devil Hunters come together to fight, and destroy the Bomb Devil hybrid – Reze. And Denji desperately tries to protect whatever little love he has left for her.

The Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc – Worldwide Release date, studios

It is going to come to Japan’s theaters on 19 September, 2025. Later, on 24th September over 80 countries can begin screening. Similarly, officially, on October 29, 2025, it will release in United States, Germany, France, Belgium etc. In short, if you reside outside of Japan, hope to watch it by the end of September, or October.

It is the same studio MAPPA who is responsible for this movie. They also did the first season of Chainsaw Man. The director is Tatsuya Yoshihara who also directed the first season’s episodes (from episode 4 to 10)

Powers, and abilities of Reze – the Bomb Devil Hybrid

Reze is one of the most deadliest antagonists in the entire Chainsaw man series. She has human intelligence, along with strong devil powers making her a serious threat.

She pulls a pin (like a grenade) from her neck, and transform her head into a bomb, and her whole body is covered in explosive markings. She is also a sort of immortal in her bomb form. She can explode herself with huge destruction, and instantly regenerate, making her almost impossible to kill.

She can also explode small parts of her body for more strategic, and targeted attacks. Aa a human-devil hybrid (in hybrid form) she also has peak stamina, durability, superhuman strength, and reflexes, a very tricky opponent in a hand-to-hand combat.

Unlike other devils, she can also fight underwater, and you may witness this scene in the upcoming Chainsaw Movie. Her final, and most powerful attacks are her cunning tactics, manipulation, and charms which she deploys perfectly on Denji.

My Thoughts on The Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc

The season 1 of Chainsaw Man made a lot of noise, and scored millions of fans in Japan, and worldwide. It was almost like Solo Leveling. I was amazed, why the studios (MAPPA) stopped episodes’ production, and went for a movie. Recently, a lot of anime have started doing that. May be it is because of the low production costs, and more output? What do you think?

Similarly, when I see Chainsaw Man threads, and online fan discussions almost all of them wanted a continuation of the regular season with longer episodes. Still, for better or worse we are at least getting something from Chainsaw man creators after more than 2 years of silence. Let’s hope for the best. Thoughts?
