ToggleThe Unprecedented Episode Plan
Season 4 is structured across 5 cours — which translates to approximately 60 episodes total. Nothing like this has been done in the series’ history. For reference:
- Season 1: 24 episodes
- Season 2: 24 episodes
- Season 3: 24 episodes
The first two cours are airing consecutively, with a total of 24 episodes running from April 3, 2026 through approximately September 2026. The remaining three cours will broadcast at later dates not yet confirmed.
This is one of the longest single-season commitments in recent anime history. It’s structured this way to give the story room to breathe without the constant seasonal interruptions that have plagued other long-running isekai series.
Release Date and Schedule
Season 4 premiered on April 3, 2026, on NTV’s “Friday Anime Night” slot at 11:00 PM JST. BS11 airs it one day later, on Saturdays at 10:00 PM JST. Crunchyroll simulcasts it globally every Friday at 7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET, available in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and Southeast Asia. An English dub is also available on Crunchyroll.

What Is the Story This Season?
The core conflict of Season 4 involves Demon Lord Rimuru’s ongoing dream of building a stable alliance between humans and monsters. Tempest continues to grow, but new opposition arrives in the form of Granville Rozzo and his granddaughter Maribel Rozzo, who have a radically different vision: protecting humanity by ruling over it.
Meanwhile, in El Dorado, Demon Lord Leon is working toward his own goals — and those goals may or may not intersect with Rimuru’s plans in ways that complicate everything.
The dungeon that Rimuru has been developing is also getting serious attention this season. The early episodes cover Team Lightspeed’s dungeon attempts and the gradual reveal of a mastermind working against Tempest from the shadows.
Notable Episode Events
- Episode 1 (“New Days”): Shuna searches for Rimuru as Tempest’s daily life is observed
- Episode 2 (“The Dungeon Evolves”): Team Lightspeed pushes further into the dungeon
- Episode 7 (“The Mastermind’s Identity”): Souei faces a confrontation that starts answering who’s been pulling strings
The pattern so far has been a mix of political maneuvering and dungeon action — classic TenSura structure but on a larger canvas.

Why Season 4 Feels Different
The 5-cour commitment signals something. The production team isn’t treating this as a transitional season — they’re building toward a full adaptation of the source material. For fans who’ve read the light novel, what’s coming in the later cours will be worth the wait.
For anime-only viewers, Season 4 right now is solid week-to-week entertainment that rewards attention to political dynamics and character relationships built over three previous seasons.
Where to Watch
