No one cannot NOT love a good anime. This anime tier list appreciates the imagination of authors, and work of artists moving on screen. Our anime list has been carefully structured based on views, ratings, popularity, forums, powers, storyline, and romance etc. Let’s dig into it.
PLEASE NOTE THIS BLOG POST IS UPDATED REGULARLY!
Table of Contents
ToggleHow does this anime tier list work?
I have divided the following tier list into S, A, B, C, E, and F classes. The best ones are in S class, followed by A, and so on. I will also explain each anime, and what you can expect from the story. Likewise, I will also explain how many seasons are there, and if they have finished or still on going. Finally, the quality of animation along with other ranking factors will also be discussed so you are not disappointed after watching or starting one.
The S Tier Anime List – Extremely good anime list worth every second
The following top anime list is the cream of all time anime. I have looked almost everywhere, along with public opinions, and narrowed them down to the following. The S Tier anime list includes the best of the best from the last few decades. Enjoy!
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Released by Bones studio from April 2009–July 2010 it is also considered by many as the greatest anime of all time. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has a total of 64 episodes, and is complete.

Fullmetal Alchemist is considered one of the best anime of all time, and with good reasons. The brotherly bond, sacrifices, courage, powers, animation, music, emotions, and world building are simply too good. In my list of anime, this one deserves the top spot. Millions of fans globally have some great anime memories, and interesting discussions, all thanks to this awesome anime.
Edward and Alphonse Elric are two brothers who tried to resurrect their mother using alchemy. Unfortunately, they failed and lost their body parts. In case of younger brother – whole body. The story moves on to deeper government conspiracies, battles, and much more on their quest.
You’ll love it since the powers, the concept of alchemy, strong individuals, unyielding courage, excellent animation, music, emotions are of top quality. It will definitely gain a top spot on your favourite animes list.
Attack on Titan
In 2025, even non-anime people have atleast heard of Attack on Titan. It is not just the best anime but also a never-ending struggle of humanity against giant sized titans. It is created by Wit Studio (Seasons 1-3), MAPPA (Season 4), and finalized on November 2023. It has 98 episodes with few bonus episodes/videos.

It revolves around Eren Yeager and his friends’ struggle against never ending threat of titans – giant sized humanized creatures with violence, and no thinking. For centuries humans lived in a claustrophobic walled society, and new generations think everywhere beyond is danger. As the story grows more, and more powerful enemies, and plots develop. And yes, wall are breached, and they leave those walls to discover more.
Furthermore, the music in this anime coupled with animation mastery makes Attack on Titan worth every second. Also, since it is already complete there is no room for suspense. I am sure you’ll enjoy it. What I loved most about it is the world building, and emotional content.
Steins;Gate
If you like time travel, mysteries, and emotional drama, Steins;Gate is what you’re looking for. White Fox Studio released this master piece from April 2011–September 2011. It has 24 episodes, and is complete.

An eccentric scientist Rintaro Okabe invents Time travel, and mess up the past events. Later, he must make amends to avoid a dystopian future which occurs due to his recklessness. When watching this one your head will spin for some time, but the events, characters, and their future effects are carefully designed and implemented. So, no fault there.
It is widely regarded as the best time travelling anime of all time. And the sound tracks, animation, emotions, and everything is top notch. And yes, you will want to watch it again.
Monster (the anime)
Released by Madhouse studio from April 2004–September 2005, the Monster (74 episodes) is not your usual anime with superpowers and such. In fact, it is the best anime in psychological thriller genre. Dr. Kenzo Tenma, who is a brilliant neurosurgeon, must make a choice; either to save an opera singer, or a random boy who had a serious head injury. He choose the latter, and man his whole life changes because of that single choice.

Monster shows us the impact of our choices and their direct impact on our future lives. Johan is a killer but his methods are filled with manipulation, tricks, and psychology – making him a Monster. Well, I don’t want to spoil it for you. But get this, after watching Monster anime, you’ll wish why hadn’t I done it sooner.
The music, the story line, the animation, and the rewatch value are all in S tier or top notch. A user on Reddit said that Monster’s high quality ruined anime for him because he may never find such good anime again. BTW it is set in post cold-war Germany.
Code Geass
Code Geass is for seasoned anime fans who want something worth their time. Spanning for 50 episodes, this one is a classic, and is considered an anime with the most satisfying ending in history.

The super power Holy Empire of Britannia plans to enslave Japan with its robotic powerhouses, and the resistance rises. You get the idea, if you’re a fan of mecha, you’ll not get a better anime than Code Geass. The Lelouch vi Britannia remains one of anime’s most compelling protagonists which is why I ranked this anime. You will know it only after watching!
Death Note
Death Note is perhaps the most binge worthy anime even among the S tier animes on my list. Especially, the first half which has impeccable animation quality. For psychological thriller fans this one is a must watch. With only 37 episodes, it covers the whole story with perfection.

The protagonist Light Yagami gets a book where he can kill anyone just by writing their name in it. To make it worst Light is a genius. The cat and mouse game of Light, and L is a breath holding story which will keep you seated until the last episode.
Read More about Light Yagami’s Powers and Abilities by clicking here.
Naruto Shippuden
Naruto Shippuden is staged in a shinobi, and ninja world where along with chakra, mysterious powers reside. With 21 complete seasons it tells the tale of a parentless boy who evolves into one of the most powerful characters in the world with hardwork, and peerless courage.

What I love most about Naruto is the level of animation despite its large number of episodes. The story, the intro of villains, the unexpected events, deaths, and destructions – all make it worth watching.

The A Tier Anime List – Best Anime list with large fan bases
One Piece
One of the longest anime which is continuously released by Toei Animation, and from the mind of the manga artist Eiichiro Oda. It has over 1100 episodes, and is expected to hit 1400 to 1500. Its first episode started on October 1999.
Don’t get discouraged by One Piece’s huge size, it’s fan base is the largest in the world. The world building, the power dynamics, politics, music, and everything is great. It is the only anime in the world which runs throughout the year (apart from some short breaks). Hats off to the creators.

Personally, I love One Piece, and it is one of my favourites. The only problem I see is the too much recaps, and slow story progress. The reason why so many people are crazy about is the mystery behind One Piece. I mean what the heck it is. Also, there are other questions like how can Blackbeard have two devil fruits, what are Dragon’s (Luffy’s father) devil fruit powers, who is Imu, and void century etc.
In short, if you love pirates movies, anime etc – even 1100 One Piece episodes may not be enough for you. It is simply one of the best anime in the world. The reason why it is not in my S Tier list is due to mediocre animation (obvious due to its magnitude, and continuity), story dragging with slow progress, and short episodes’ length (the actual episode are only 12 to 15 minutes if you skip the recaps, intro, outros).

Here are Abilities Hub’s exciting blogs about one piece. Please click on the following links to go to the specific blog:

One Punch Man
One Punch Man season 1 was done by Madhouse studio, and season 2 by J.C.Staff. The upcoming season 3 of One Punch Man will also be created by J.C.Staff. It is due in October 2025 (next month).
The story revolves around Saitama, who is a hero by hobby. He has power so strong that he can defeat the greatest villains with only one punch. Even he don’t know the limits of his power. That’s why he is often bored, and want some excitement in the form of a powerful villain.

The world building is great which covers, the alphabetically arranged cities, monster and hero associations with rankings form S to C. The music, the story flow, and sudden events are greatly executed, making it one of the best anime with most discussions online. Even Saitama’s memes alone have more views, and engagements than most animes.

Tensura – That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime
Started in 2018, Eight Bit is currently working on its fourth season which may be released in 2026 or 2027. Tensura or Slime is a fantasy enriched story of a middle aged corporate worker who is still single, and don’t have a family. He has no thrill or fun in his life, just a rough office fueled life.

He gets killed while saving on of his colleague from a robber’s attack. And is transported to another world in the form of a slime. The story gets interesting as the world he is transported to is filled with demon lords, goblins, holy maidens, and elves, dragons, etc.
The part which I love most about it is the Rimuru’s adoptability, and his power leveling which is so addicting to watch. The only drawback I see is the long waits before the next season. Although, its light novels/web novels have covered hundreds of volumes.
The world building, the music, the characters, power leveling, and everything else is of great quality. The animation has improved greatly since season 1. Let’s wait for the next season.

Vinland Saga
Looking for some good old sword play with viking twist? Vinland saga does it all and goes above and beyond in terms of animation quality. After a long wait we recently got a season 2, which again surprised us with same awesome story, world, animation, music, and more.

So far you can watch 48 episodes, and enjoy the top level of animation, with excellent swordplay, and great story line. Thorfinn an icelander is after the killers of his father who was a great warrior. During his journey he discovers more about himself, and faces enemies.
Demon Slayer
Ufotable started releasing Demon Slayer anime in 2019, and the last season ended in 2023. The finale is divided into three movies instead of a season 5. So far only one movie is released which has broken many records in Japan and worldwide. So, you can expect to enjoy a total of 55 episodes, and one movie now. And hope for the rest two soon.

Tanjiro Kamado becomes a demon slayer to cure his sister Nezuko of demonhood and defeat the demon lord Muzan Kibutsuji. The story building is nice, and steady. You enjoy each moment of the episodes. The animation is one of the best in anime history. You’ll love it. The studios don’t compromise on the quality of sound effect, and animation.
Click Here for Tanjiro Kamado’s powers and abilities in Demon Slayer.
Dragon Ball Z Kai
Probably one of the most famous anime in history is Dragon Ball. It is also one of the oldest. But we are talking about Dragon Ball Z Kai. You will have decent animation, good story, and Son Goku in its prime along with other team members.

If you want to follow all adventures of Son Goku, you will need to go back to the original Dragon Ball Z, then Dragon Ball Z Kai, and lastly, Dragon Ball Super. As the superman of Japanese manga, and anime, Son Goku is a globally loved character due to his sheer will, good heart, and a thirst to become the greatest fighter in the world.
Click Here for the strongest anime character.
Overlord
Overlord is a unique kind of anime where a player gets trapped in a fantasy MMORPG game. The game was a very important part of his life, and he is excited about conquering the new world with intelligent NPCs at his side.

It has 4 seasons, and the fifth one is underway but can take some time to release. But even watching first 4 seasons is good enough since there is no cliffhanger in the finale of 4th season. Its world building is excellent with expansive game-to-reality transition with detailed magic systems, multiple competing nations, and intricate political maneuvering between various fantasy races.
The B Tier Anime List – Good Anime List with few disappointments
Jujutsu Kaisen
Created by MAPPA studio it is an on-going anime (2020–Ongoing) which currently have two seasons with third underway. Yuji Itadori swallows a cursed finger and becomes host to powerful curse Sukuna, joining Jujutsu sorcerers to exorcise curses, and consume all Sukuna’s fingers to defeat him.

The series has an in-depth storyline with perfectly balanced modern curse power mechanics, institutions, groups, and supernatural eco system. If you want to watch an anime with the best animation, this one is for you.
With powerful characters like Gojo, the big bad Sakuna, is not the only major powerhouse in the series. Sort of like Dumbledore, and Voldemort.
Baki
Baki Hanma is a teenager who strives to become stronger than his father Yujiro Hanma, the strongest being alive. It is a martial arts anime with a bit touch of ancient almost magical martial arts moves. If you love MMA, boxing etc, this anime is a must watch for you.

The original Baki the Grappler follows Baki as he becomes the strongest teenager in the world fighting in underground arenas with guys twice his size, and becoming the champion. The later part of the series which summed up nicely recently, is called Baki Hanma (Son of Ogre). With more extreme battles, and a final showdown with his father, the series has a satisfying end. In total you can enjoy over 100 episodes, each animated nicely, with great action, blood packed fights, and much more.
Kengan Ashura
Another martial arts master piece, Kengan Ashura takes us into a martial arts world where the contracts, deals, and companies major battles take place in Kengan Matches. If your Fighter wins you can win the contract to a billion dollar project.

Tokita Ohma is the main protagonist, who almost always wins every fight, and is hired by huge corporation as their fighter. It also tells us about his background story, and his unique martial arts. Still, the studios relied on CGI elements in some scenes which makes it a bit less interesting than Baki. it has 54 episodes so far, with more to come.
Tokyo Ghoul
Released by Pierrot from 2014 to 2018 Tokyo Ghoul is a unique anime where humans, and ghouls live in the same modern world. After an accident the protagonist Ken Kaneki becomes a half ghoul, and now he roams in and out of humans, and ghoul groups.

It has four seasons, and is a complete anime. It is worth watching because of its unique power building, story line, an dunexpected turns of events. The new characters keep surprising you until the end. I put this one so low because of its adaptation issues in the later seasons. You will know when you watch it.

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is an isekai anime except he reincarnates in the same world. The protagonist Rentt Faina is an average adventurer who has been at it for 10 years. He gets killed by a dragon, and is reborn as an undead skeleton with an evolution ability.
I came across The Unwanted Undead Adventurer while browsing Netflix. I enjoyed it so much that I researched it further, and found good reviews, comments, and discussions with a decent fanbase. This is one of those ”feel good” animes.
The worldbuilding is your typical fantasy environment with dungeons, monsters, guilds, etc. The power leveling system is what attracts you most since he evolves from an undead skeleton, to more unique forms with each evolution. The goal being Existential Evolution to rejoining the living. So far there is only one season with 11 episodes.
Record of Ragnarok
Record of Ragnarok is a mythological battle anime with one-on-one arena fueled showdowns. The supposed gods in the anime decide to wipe out humanity but the Valkyries decide against it and propose 13 showdowns between legendary men from history with the strongest gods.

So, far there are only two seasons, and most fans loved watching them. You can watch 27 episodes, and enjoy one-on-one epic battles in this fast-pacing anime. It is continuing.
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill
Another isekai feel good anime with a really absurd skill set. Mukoda Tsuyoshi, the protagonist is summoned to another world by a kingdom in need of heroes along with three other. Except his skill is Online Grocery, which seems useless in comparison with other three heroes who gain powerful abilities.

He says good bye to them, and embarks on his own journey. Surprisingly his skill Online grocery along with his item box makes his too attractive for mythical beings, gods etc. So, he enjoys everyday while making tons of gold, and powerful allies. It is a must watch if you like this kind of anime. There is only one season, and the second one is officially announced, so hold tight.
Haikyuu!!
Haikyuu is a Volleyball enthusiasts who also like anime. The emotional level displayed, and realistic sports play made it a sensation in Japan, and around the globe. There are 4 seasons, and you can enjoy them on different platforms.

Yes, it has concluded, and to watch finale you need to checkout the last two movies. The first movie Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle is already released, and the second one Haikyuu!! vs. The Little Giant is yet to be announced.
Dandadan
Dandadan has been a sensation during last two years. What makes it stand out is its raunchy, and weird humor expressions, and world building. Momo and Okarun’s are two high schoolers with their own set of beliefs. After some clashes they finally understand that both of them were right. Ghosts, aliens, and awakened powers exist.

Typically we get a simple world in any anime with a specific kind of supernatural, and powers building. Da Da Dan breaks all boundaries bringing chaos to our understanding. I mean aliens, ghosts, and other powers all stacked together. It blows your mind. So far there are two seasons, and more to come.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure
Jojo refers to a family member of Joestar family. And each season have a different member with a separate timeline fighting powerful enemies with weired powers. So far there are five seasons of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, andhopefully we will get more since manga is continuing.
Made in Abyss
If you are not fan of serious, and dark animes than Made in Abyss might not be for you. The story, music, gritty atmosphere, and pace makes it an excellent anime. Made in Abyss revolves around and young girl Riko who want to find her mother. She meets a part robot boy Reg, and together they make their way into th earth’s Abyss to find her mom.
The C Tier Anime List – Moderately Entertaining With Noticeable Flaws
My Hero Academia
My list of the best anime series included My Hero Academia for a long time. However, due to some useless plots, and story dragging it lost its touch, and landed in C Tier. The world building is great, and the villain is awesome. But the screentime of All for One is so less. Where as the goofy scenes, and forcefully stretched episodes make this one ”less interesting” for me.
The Seven Deadly Sins
The Seven Deadly Sins is a good anime with a touch of medieval ages, along with fantasy elements like King Author, Merlin, etc. Meliodas (pride) is the leader of seven, along with powerful members like Escanor. This anime’s world building is great, the battles are well animated.

If you want to watch it start with season one, then special espisodes of Signs of Holy War, then season 2 to 4, and finally the two movies. Still, if you only watched the 4 seasons you will enjoy.
Fairy Tail
Another fantasy filled anime with guilds, wizards, and dragons. Natsu a dragon slayer wizard, along with Lucy a celestial wizard join Fairy Tail Guild. They fight powerful enemies in usual episodes. And in the final episodes of the story we get a main boss or two. It has 9 seasons. Its main storyline is complete, and available to watch on different platforms.
Kaiju no 8
Monstrous Kaiju attacks often the modern human cities, and the defence forces work day and night to kill them. Kafka Hibino a middleaged man full of dreams to join the elite human forces against Kaiju is a clean up squad member. One day a strange kaiju part fuses with him, turning him into Kaiju no 8. The rest of the story is awesomely animated, and the events are portrayed in an ideal manner.

So, far Kaiju no 8 has two seasons with the second one airing right now. You can watch full first season of Kaiju no 8, along with the already released 5 episodes as of 22 August, 2025.
Sword Art Online
In 2022, thousands of players are trapped in an MMORPG called Sword Art Online. The protagonist Kirito (Kazuto Kirigaya) fights to clear the game as dying here means dying in real life. The anime is a global hit containing over 100 episodes and is on going.
Fire Force
Fire Force anime is unique because of the threat humans are faced with. They are infected with spontaneous combustion where humans turn into fiery monsters called Infernals. To fight this a third generation pyrokinetic named Shinra Kusakabe joins the Company 8 to uncover the mysteries, and evil forces behind it. So far it has 2 seasons with second and third already confirmed which will wrap up the manga story nicely.
Chainsaw Man
In Chainsaw Man’s world devils manifest from human desires, and attacks and kill people. Denji a destitute boy fuses with Pochita initially a pet, and is reborn as a devil-human hybrid. For a few bites of food, or female touch he joins Safety Devil Hunters under Makima.

I found it really enjoying, and it was a global hit. Despite all this, the studio halted the anime, and are going to release a movie instead. It will cover a major part of Chainsawman arc. In our Anime tier list, Chainsawman would have a higher place if not for long waits. The first season of Chainsawman released in 2022, with 12 episodes.
Now, there are no new seasons in production, and you will watch a new movie soon. The new Chainsaw Man movie called
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is set to be released on 19 September, 2025 in Japan.
May be after the movie we will get another season?

Black Clover
Much closer to Fairy Tail, but with a more enthusiastic protagonist who wants to become strong, and ultimately the Wizard King. Asta is born without magic in Clover Kingdom where magic is everything. Despite his lack of no magic powers, he gets a rare five-leaf clover grimoire which is odd because the highest is 4 leaf. It gives him anti magic powers, making his path easier towards becoming the Wizard King.

The studio released 170 episodes, and recently a movie called Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. The story is still not finished and they have announced a new project. We still don’t know if it will be another movie or the continuation of the series.
Re-Zero Starting Life in Another World
Re-Zero is a fantasy isekai anime with complex world building, and a huge map. I cannot tell you if you’ll enjoy this one or regret watching. Re-Zero Starting Life in Another World is enjoyable for some, and boring for others. So, I leave it upto you to decide whether it is fit for your palates.

There are three seasons with large episodes. The protagonist has the ability terrifying ability called Return by Death which forces him to relive the already lived time. In my opinion it is a cruel ability.
The D Tier Anime List – Just kill the time Anime List
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
Where Naruto was a classic worthy of placing in our top tier anime list, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is not so much. The story revolves around Naruto’s son Boruto who has to constantly struggle to be worthy of his father’s legacy. Naruto (currently the seventh hokage) of the Hidden Lead Village is rarely seen.

Still, I believe it fails to capture the original vibes of Naruto Shippuden, and the story is somewhat boring to most audience. It has 293 episodes with more to come soon.
Click Here to read about Naruto Uzumaki Powers, and Abilities.
The Promised Neverland Season 2
It is a dark thriller where children living an an orphanage discover that they are raised as the food for demons like in a farm. They venture outside to face demons, and other forces. It is fun to watch but is not for everyone.
The animation quality, music, and critical scenes are done greatly. But if skips alot of major events from the original manga therefore most fans are not happy. It is complete and have only 23 episodes across two seasons.
Rent-A-Girlfriend
It is a romatic comedy, and not for everyone. Kazuya Kinoshita has his heart broken so he rents a girlfriend (Chizuru Mizuhara) using an app. There is not much to discuss about it, so watch if you like this sort of thing. It has three seasons with 12 episodes each, and the story is incomplete.
Food Wars! The Fifth Plate
If you like cooking contests, then this anime will fit nicely to your taste. It has five seasons with a total of 86 episodes, and the story is complete. Soma Yukihira the protagonist of Food Wars, enters Totsuki Culinary Academy, where students face off in intense food wars to prove their skills
Platinum End
Mirai Kakehashi, a depressed teenager, is saved by an angel who grants him powers and throws him into a deadly contest where candidates must fight to become the next God. What makes it a bit interesting are psychological elements, and survival skills. If you like this sort of anime, then this one might be your next binge. Platinum End has only 24 episodes, and the story is complete.
The F Tier Anime List – Not Recommended Unless Desperate
Ex-Arm
With Futuristic cyber settings this anime is about a boy named Akira Natsume who dies, and is reborn as a superweapon AI called Ex-Arm. He joins the police, and fights crimes. The animation is poor, but still digestible if you have nothing else to do. It is one of the worst anime out there, and thankfully only has 12 episodes.
Ghost Stories (English dub)
A horror-comedy anime, with the usual story of kids who find a supernatural book like Evil Dead and fight ghosts etc. A lame story and a sad copy of Evil Dead, and Stranger things. However, its English dub is something worth spending time. Although I never watch any anime in English dub, nothing beats original audio track, and subs are enough.
In this case for some good laughs, Ghost Stories (English Dub) might entertain you. It has 20 episodes, and status is complete.
Pupa
If you like weired, and cruel horro scenes, this might be for you. Still, its slow pacing, and too much focus on shock elements places it in the lower tier of my top amine list. In short, Utsutsu Hasegawa and his younger sister Yume are infected by a strange virus that turns Yume into a flesh-eating monster, forcing Utsutsu to let her feed on him to keep her alive. Disturbing, right? It has 12 very short episodes, and the story ins incomplete.

My Thoughts on Anime Tier List
One ultimate anime tier list was always coming on Abilities Hub. It is a much needed topic I wanted to cover for a long time. But the only problem was its composition, and ranking difficulty. So after numerous hours of struggle, I have finally publised it. And I sincerly hope to get your honest feedback.
The anime included are world famous, and collectively have billions of fans. And if you are one, you must have heared about some of them. And you have already watched a few like One Piece, One Punch Man, and Tensura. I know this because, they are hard not to watch.
